Our summer trip to Oregon

Today is the last day of summer! It's sad to say goodbye, it was a great one. We did almost everything on our bucket list- including sleeping in, bird watching, swimming, going to the beach and the zoo, growing vegetables, and taking a trip to my homeland of Oregon!!

My iPhone pictures from our trip...

The kids ready to take off on the plane. We had to get up super early, but they were super excited and did great!

We made it to Portland! So excited to start our visit.

I loved seeing the kids in our childhood home. They enjoyed bubble baths, and izzy especially loved decorating, reading mels old books (gotta love double trouble and the babysitters club!), and "moving in" to my old room.

Our first day we checked out the Salem children's museum with mom and dad.

Izzy and Gmaz crossing the bridge together.

We loved this giant chair!

We all enjoyed the museum exhibits. It was so great to see iz and bo with their Gmaz and gpaz.

Of course we took the kids to baskin robins - checked out the clown cones ;)

I drank lots and lots of coffee- yum!

We visited my elementary school, I was feeling very nostalgic and had fun looking around with the kiddos.

I used to play on this bar!

Loved this mural on the school.

Bo rides the carousel after the children's museum.

Lunch with dad- best fish salad ever!!

We spent a wonderful afternoon with my lifelong bestie Angela and her family. The kids loved swimming in their pool and I loved chatting. We live too far away from each other ;(

We drove down to Eugene for a day, visited some of our old places and went down to campus and fifth street market. A beautiful place with lots of great memories.

The kids enjoyed prince pucklers ice cream. G and I used to get prince pucklers in little baseball hats at the Em's baseball games!

We had a super fun dinner at Kwans with my parents. So many laughs!! Thanks for all the great meals and treats mom and dad.

Bodie takes everyone orders at dinner ;)

Outside Kwans with Gmaz and gpaz.

We had an afternoon visit with the Ayres grandparents and enjoyed some delicious apple dumplings from Gma Ayres!

Favorite day- the beach!

Kids pumped up to dig with their we shovels- lol.

Gpaz and iz start on the big dig.

The whole crew gets into the digging action. Super fun;)

We went to Mo's, spend some great time on the beach and then stopped off for coffee and treats at our fav coffee shop.

We decided to drive a short distance to another beach with a giant sand dune, and it was well worth it!

The big sand dune!

From the top! And g running down ;)

Bodie and I at the top;)

G and s. and the beach. Perfect!

One last sand angel before our drive back to Keizer.

Family photo by gpaz- love this one.

Playing on the back of the car on the way home. Good memories from this day!

It was such a great trip, and so hard to say goodbye. We miss you already so much!

Our last stop on the way to the airport- a visit with the Michealis grandparents. Good times!!

Grandpa plays trumpet with iz and bo.

Grandma pleases the sweet tooth!

Was great to see you both!

Thanks for the great week Oregon! We will be back soon!

Iz passing time on the layover.

And finally....sweet sleep!

Trip to Oregon 2015

I was fortunate to be able to make it back to Oregon for my yearly trip to visit my mom and dad again this year. This is a trip I look forward to so much. It was another wonderful visit this year. Mel and little Josie were able to come visit as well and it was a very special time to be together. I'm already looking forward to next years visit ;)!

When I see the mountains out the window I know we've almost made it...;) Oregon always feels like home.

My room has had somewhat of a transformation since I Iived there... ;)

We enjoyed a few beautiful sunny days which felt so warm!!

Getting Josie to smile for a photo was a group effort at times...;)

Family selfie!! xoxo I always love when the 4 of us can be together again.

A beautiful day.

A forced snuggle auntie and Josie selfie.

Lots of lounging and chatting. So nice. Thanks for all the tea and goodies mom!

I got to see my best childhood friend Angela for dinner one night, and was excited to hear she's pregnant again! It's hard to believe we've been friends for almost 30 years! So many great memories, and another one made. I'm so lucky to still have your friendship!

One of my favorite days was our trip to the coast. It was a true Oregon day- overcast but still beautiful. Love our family tradition of visiting this place.

Sister time! Loved it!

Mel and Josie at the beach. It was so fun to be able to see Josie for a few full days. She's so cute, smart and sweet. What a fun age (and so much less work as an auntie ;))

How cute it that face?!

Love you mom and dad! Thanks for a wonderful visit!!

Love our group selfie! Same time and same place next year?! Can't wait!
