Heartland Farm

Today we headed off to visit Heartland Farm in Maryland. Izzy was excited, and sang "old mcdonald had a farm" in the backseat on the way to prepare for the adventure, lol. They had apple picking, animals to pet, and a little shop with fresh farm picked veggies, pumpkins, and goodies.

Bodie was happy to ride along with graham during the trip. The goats were a favorite of iz's and she pointed out the boy and girl goats, and said, "they are a family"!

This is the one and only apple that iz picked, lol, at least i got a picture! After one apple she was ready to get back to the goats and chickens.

I attempted my first apple pie, turned out okay. I should've called grandma Ayres before I made it to get her help, instead of after! =)Also made some green beans that we got at the farm, along with fresh veggies for our pasta sauce. yummy!

new accomplishments: 2 teeth on the bottom! transitioning from sitting to his belly (a bit of a roll/fall, lol), starting solids (likes carrots, apples, pears, banana, avacado), babbling (ma,ba,da,na), everything to mouth, rolling, sitting up well, laughing

bodie is almost always smiling. people comment on what a happy baby he is all the time.
he likes to cuddle and sleep with mom, rather than by himself in his crib (do you blame him?) =)
he loves to be outside, likes to swing, and grab at leaves as we walk by in the stroller

A fall afternoon!

I am loving the cooler weather. After work we walked to a park area that has a baseball field next to it. There is a little flower garden which has lambs ear in it, and we always have to feel that becuase I love how soft it is. There is also a really nice playground with swings and a climbing structure and merry go round. Iz loved climing the bleachers (which luckily has a safety chain on the back that prevents falling) and bodes was happy to watch her and enjoy the breeze. We had a snack before heading home, got a few rare pics of iz standing still while she ate her apple- lol.

Izzy has a good friend that lives 2 doors down. We usually see him arriving on our porch in the afternoon asking to play with izzy, and whenever she hears him she says " i hear phillipe" directly followed by wanting to put her shoes on to go on down to his house. I wanted to get a few pics of them playing and drinking their smoothies, which phillepe's mom Sofia so generously makes for izzy as well. They also enjoy doing kid yoga videos together at Sofia's house, playing with play doh, and jumping on the bed followed by wrestling around. Ah friends!

Sunday adventure

Bodes has started to be able to sit really well. He loves to play with some toys in reach or swip at the cats tails as they walk by. Nice sitting bodes!

girls date!

I treasure my girls time with iz! I have started trying to get out atleast one time during the weekend with just us. We like to take walks, go to the coffee shop together, look at clouds, just dawdle around and explore. These are a few pics of us on our way to the coffee shop that is down the street. We picked up a rock and acorn on the way and treated ourselves to a coffee (me) and pink flower cookie (iz). I realize it seems like she is always wearing dresses, which i think is because they are easy for her to put on herself, lol. Thanks for the fun times iz!

weekend park runs

we love to go on walks or to the park on the weekends. It really helps me to get out and about, and I think the kids really love it too. We are so lucky to live close to the GW parkway which has a beautiful trail all along the water.

getting dressed

iz is a little rockstart with getting dressed these days. here is the progression of her putting on her favorite tinkerbell pjs which she picked out herself at target a few months ago. If it was up to her she would wear them all the time, (or no clothes!) =) She usually picks up her clothes and says, "i do it!!"

1st tooth

bodes got his first tooth this week (6 months old!) on the bottom. Way to go bodes!
